Lawmakers have requested that the leadership of the law-enforcement bodies should present reports on criminality in Moldova. Speaking at a parliamentary meeting today, Liberal Democrat MPs Ion Butmalai, Alexandru Cimbriciuc and Anatolie Dumitriu demanded that the Prosecutor General's Office, the Interior Ministry and the Anti-Corruption Centre should present reports on the matter. They added that they would ask the parliament s bureau to include the issue on the agenda of the 15 June parliamentary meeting. Non-affiliated MP Mihai Godea backed the proposal, noting that "the hearing is absolutely necessary". MPs made requests on the matter before, as the number of grave crimes had taken place in the country lately.
