China donates IT equipment to Moldovan parliament
Parliament Speaker Marian Lupu participated in an official ceremony during which the Moldovan parliament received a consignment of IT equipment from the Chinese government and National People's Congress, according to the parliament's communication and public relations department. Chinese Ambassador to Moldova Tong Mingtao said that as a result of a visit to Chisinau by the deputy chairman of the Permanent Committee of the Great National Assembly of Chinese People's Congress, Sang Guowei, the permanent bureau of the Great National Assembly donated to the Moldovan parliament a consignment of IT equipment estimated at 78,125 dollars. Tong Mingtao said that China, as the world s leading development country, focuses its efforts both on its development and support for other countries that are strongly committed to development. The support is offered so that these countries having friendship relations with China enjoy support in their social and economic development. Once Moldova and China set diplomatic relations, the country benefitted from economic and technical support worth about 37 million dollars, including cereals, medical equipment, production lines, office supplies, aid for natural disasters etc. Mingtao also said that the development of friendship and cooperation relations with Moldova is both a policy and tradition of the Chinese government, and providing economic support to the Moldovan people is one of the Chinese government's coherent policies. In the context, Lupu thanked the Chinese side for the donation, and noted that the equipment will back the improvement of the activity of the Moldovan parliament. Lupu assured Mingtao that Moldova's parliament will further take actions to step up the strategic partnership relations with China and colleagues within the Great National Assembly of Chinese People's Congress. Also, Lupu said that this grant will contribute more actively to meeting the goal of getting the two states closer and achieving better results in multilateral cooperation between Moldova and China.
