Moldova to benefit from 7.5-million-euro loan for modernization of republican hospital

The Austrian government will give Moldova a concessional loan of 7.5 million euros for the implementation of the project "Enhancing medical services in the Republican Clinical Hospital".

Finance Minister Veaceslav Negruta was entitled to sign an export credit agreement between Moldova and UniCreditBank Austria AG, through which the money is to be earmarked.

Deputy Finance Minister Victor Barbaneagra said that the project would help improve the medical services' quality and would make it possible to carry out provisional diagnoses. The project envisages the purchase of cutting-edge medical equipment, which will enhance the productivity and quality of medical investigations. At the same time, this will allow implementing new treatment and diagnosis methods and reducing the hospitals' spending.

The loan will be give for a 15-year term, with a grace period of 5.5 years and with no interest rates. At the same time, the beneficiary will pay a commitment tax of 0.5 per cent annually, a management tax of 0.5 per cent of the loan's amount and an administration tax of 1,440 euros.
