Commission began examining Cahul-Giurgiulesti railroad

An inter-ministerial commission created to examine the condition of the Cahul-Giurgiulesti railroad section has held its first meeting. Valeriu Ciubuc, Deputy Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure, said searching solutions for eliminating problems at the Cahul-Giurgiulesti road sector implies completing the process of allocating sections to the National Railroad Company of Moldova; recalculation of means spent for the branch line building.

Additionally, the commission will establish financial sources necessary to restore the road damaged by landslides. The meeting was attended by representatives of profiled institutions, Center for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption, Prosecutor General’s Office, projecting institutes IntehNauca and AcvaProiect. The passenger and freight train circulation on the road was stopped last week because of embankment falling.
