The bodies of an 89-year-old woman and her 54-year-old son, were extracted from the ruins of a house that exploded this morning, July 28, in Balti, reports Info-Prim Neo.
According to a communiqué from the press service of the Civil Protection and Exceptional Situation Service, the explosion destroyed an auxiliary building from a household on 15 Herson Street.
The rescuers received the alert at around 8:24am, and immediately intervened. Nevertheless, the people who were inside the building at the time of the explosion could not be saved. The two corpses were discovered when the building’s debris was being removed.
Sixteen employees of the Civil Protection and Exceptional Situation Service are at the scene. The rescuers found a barrel of propane-butane with its valve open, which may point to a gas leak.
