No vacation for Termocom debtors

The heat and hot water utility Termocom its campaign on recovering client debt and asks those with missed payments to cover their debt as soon as possible, in order to avoid potential lawsuits or forced execution, which both imply extra expenses for the client.

According to a communiqué from Termocom, those who do not pay their heating bills will not be able to leave the country, apply for a passport, and their goods may be confiscated. Around 4,000 summonses were written. Until now 2,888 court procedures were opened, summing to 30 million lei, out of which in 1,234 civil proceedings were ruled upon, totaling to 15.1 million lei.

In the same context, 860 enforceable titles were collected, summing to 6 million lei and 969 debt payment plans, for a total of 8 million lei. 709 apartment owners received an interdiction to sell their realty, and 75 automobiles are being traced and will be taken away from their owners when found. Likewise, 831 debtor’s bank cards were frozen, restricting the access until full closure of debt. When trying to extract cash from ATMs, frozen debtor’s card get stuck in the machine.

Termocom draws the attention of debtors to whom an enforceable title has been already issued that all relevant ministries set interdictions on these names for the sale of their mobile and immobile assets, as well as to apply for a passport, or leave the country.

Since the beginning of the year, the utility's lawyers, along with managers of residential associations, have sent about 16,000 warning writs that sum up to 95 million lei; 1513 of the writs sent were replied with complete closure of debt, totaling to 10 million lei.
