The Parliament of Moldova passed the law permiting to clear motor cars at the age of over 7 imported under the temporary import regime till November, 1, 2012
The respective amendments to the Fiscal Code permitting to clear all cars registered broad and imported to Moldova will April,5 2011 regardless their age were passed by the Parliament in to readings at once on Thursday.
Cars registered aboard at the age under 7 will be imposed on ordinary excises, Deputy Minister of Finance Victor Barbaneagra announced. However cars at the age over 7 will be imposed on excises increasing 5% for each extra year.
Excises on cars at the age of up to 7 with petrol engine capacity of up to 1 thou. q. cm. will make up0,36 euros per 1 q.cm. Excises will be 0,38 euros on 8-year old cars, 0.4 euros on 9-year old cars, 0,41 euros on 10-year old cars, 0,43 euros on 11-year old cars, 0,45 euros on 12-year old cars, 0,47 euros on 13-year old cars and 0,49 euros on cars at the age of over 14. Cars with the engine capacity of 2 thou. q. cm. to3 thou. q. cm will be imposed on excises at amounts of 1.21, 1.27, 1.3, 1.39, 1.45, 1.51, 1.57, 1.63 euros per q.cm.
All cars at the age of over 7 with the engine capacity of over 3 thou. q. cm will be imposed on an excise at amount of 3.5 euros per 1 q. cm. Diesel engine cars at the age of 7 to 14 and over with the capacity of the engine up to 1.5 thou. q.cm. will be imposed excises at amounts of 0.48 euros, 0.5 euros, 0.53 euros, 0.55 euros, 0.58 euros, 0.6 euros, 0.62 euros, 0.65 euros per 1 q.cm. Diesel engine cars with the capacity of the engine of 1.5 thou. to 2.5 thou. q. cm. will be imposed excises at amounts of 1.21 euros, 1.27 euros, 1.3 euros, 1.39 euros, 1.45 euros, 1.51 euros, 1.57 euros, 1.63 euros. According to the government of Moldova, there are over 58 thou. cars registered abroad in Moldova.
They were imported chiefly by Moldovan labor migrants after authorities of Moldova allowed them to the country under the temporary duty-free import regime on the condition that in a certain period time they would leave the territory of Moldova.
