The Audiovisual Coordination Council (CCA) today punished the Pro FM radio station, and banned it from broadcasting advertising after the decision is published in the Official Paper (Monitorul Oficial).
At a today's meeting, the CCA members expressed concern about the fact that Pro FM allows broadcasting of advertising blocks issued by the radio station with the same name from Bucharest. A monitoring report by the media watchdog shows that Pro FM broadcast hidden advertising on some days last June. The radio station's representatives explained the discovered irregularities by technical gaps.
Also today, the CCA subjected the radio station Europa Plus to a maximal fine of 5,400 lei for the broadcasting of re-aired advertising, and instructed to repeatedly monitor this station. For the same infringement, the KISS FM radio station was fined with 1,800 lei.
The Council also penalized the enterprise Radio Top Ltd as public warning for failure to notify the media watchdog about a change of the quota of shares of some stockholders. This allowed entrepreneur Dan Lozovan illegally holding the controlling stakes of three radio stations. The Radio TOP representative said that, meanwhile, Dan Lozovan sold stocks to third persons to comply with the Audiovisual Code.
The CCA informed about the putting up to contest of 26 radio frequencies and 4 TV channels, established as available by the Information Technology and Communications Ministry.
