Dog-days return in Moldova

The State Hydro-meteorological Service has forecast a maximal air temperature of up to +38 Celsius degrees for 21-27 July.

The first deputy director of the above-mentioned service, Elina Plesca, said that no essential precipitation is expected on 21 July. The minimal air temperature will vary between +15 - +20 degrees at night, and the maximal one between +30 and +35 degrees during the day.

On 22 July, short thunderstorm rains are forecast in the northern part of Moldova. No precipitation is expected in the rest of the period. At night, the air temperature will fluctuate between +14 and +21 degrees.

During the day on 22 July, the maximal air temperature will oscillate mainly between +30 and +35 degrees, and between +25 and +30 degrees in Moldova's northern districts. On 23 July, the air temperature will vary between +31 and +36 degrees, and between +26 and +31 degrees in some regions from north Moldova.

On 24-26 July, the air temperature is to fluctuate between +32 and +38 degrees, and on 27 July, - between +30 and +35 degrees.

According to the State Hydro-meteorological Service's multiannual data /1886-2011/, on this period, the highest air temperature in Chisinau was +38.5 degrees Celsius on 21 July 2007 and the lowest, +10.1 degrees Celsius, on 21 July 1907.
