Two men, who used medical masks and a screw driver, attacked and robbed the office of a commercial bank in the Ciocana district of Chisinau today. Preliminary data shows that the perpetrators purloined one million lei.
The head of the Interior Ministry's (MAI) police department, Ion Bodrug, has told journalists that the offenders entered the bank's office unexpectedly and took all the money brought by collectors. Afterwards, they quitted the bank and left by car. The MAI representative noted that the police established the model and colour of the transport means.
At the moment of the attack, two employees of the institution were at the bank's branch. Yet, they could not offer information about the attackers.
A press officer at the Chisinau-based Police General Commissariat, Adrian Jovmir, said that two operative working groups were set up, that set all the circumstances and collect conclusive evidence to identify and detain the perpetrators.
