Prime Minister Vlad Filat today introduced new Education Minister Maia Sandu to the institution's collective, according to the government's communication and press relations department. Attending the event was also ex-Education Minister and new presidential adviser for culture, education and science Mihail Sleahtitchi. Filat thanked Mihail Sleahtitchi for his work, and wished him success in his new office. Also, Filat expressed conviction that Maia Sandu will manage to make a united and professional team. "The education system is expected to become performing aimed at sending knowledge to our children. The Moldovan children are bright. They prove remarkable results when they are trained into a performing education system. Thus, we need an education system providing the platform needed to achieve performances", Filat said. Maia Sandu expressed gratitude to the given confidence, and assured that she would take effort to promote the reforms in the education system and to record new achievements in the field. Also, Maia Sandu thanked her predecessor for the activity within the ministry and the consolidation of the institution's team. For his part, Mihail Sleahtitchi thanked the ministerial collective for the entire activity, and expressed conviction that the positive results recorded so far will be enhanced, and new performances in the education sector headed by Maia Sandu will be achieved.
