Art Galleries

We recommend all art lovers and collectors to visit some of the local art galleries, which are worth seeing – to admire the displays and maybe to add something to the existing collection. Unfortunately Chisinau cannot boast a rich heritage in terms of fine arts, that is why more often than not our picture galleries exhibit the works of contemporary artists and painters.

The two names deserving a special mention among the contemporary Moldovan painters are: Stanislav Babiuc Senior and Stanislav Babiuc Junior. The subject matter of their paintings is quite diversified. Many of their works can be found in private arts collections in Italy, Ireland, USA, Russia and Ukraine.

Foreign collectors are typically frequenting Moldova to acquire less expensive works of the talented Moldovan artists and painters, which are in no way inferior to the works of their more popular colleagues fashionable internationally. Even for a non-collector a work of art which holds genuine appeal for you may become a good souvenir or a present for your friends or family.
