Chisinau Parks

In Chisinau there are 19 parks. In the center of the town there is one of the oldest monuments of landscape architecture in Moldova - the park "Stefan cel Mare", which was built in 1818, with the surface of 7 hectares. It has 7 entries and comprises 4 fountains.

The main fountain is located in the center, and all the avenues of the park converge to him, equipped with free Wi-Fi. In the center of the Park on a granite column, the bronze bust of Pushkin is placed. Through the park runs the Alley of Classics, adorned with busts of famous Moldavian writers and cultural figures. This is a traditional place of rest, walks and meetings of people from Chisinau.

Cathedral Square (1836), joined with its south-western side to the square of the Grand National Assembly. Its square is 9 acres. It has 8 entries, from which the direct alleys are leading to the open space in front of the cathedral.

In winter, during the Christmas holidays, the park becomes a holiday area, where the main Christmas tree of the city   is decorated and are held festivities. During the summer the square is transformed into a youth get-together where you can meet representatives of the underground subcultures.

The park complex Valia Morilor (Mills Valley) area of 114 hectares is located in the southwestern part of the city. It is located on a site with an interesting kind of relief and greenery.

The center of the landscaped composition served the lake, with an area of 34 hectares. In 2008, he was drained. Currently, on the territory of the park are located the Green theater with 5,000 seats , Amusement Park “Aventura”, volleyball courts  and fields for badminton . The zone of free trade and exhibition halls Moldexpo are neighboring to the park, where traditionally are held the largest exhibitions in Moldova.

Park Valia Trandafirilor (Rose Valley) adorns the south-eastern part of the city. Once on the site of the park was a natural green area with an array of 145 acres, interspersed with plantations of roses. Now the central part of the park is decorated with a cascade of lakes, water surface of which is 9 acres. In the park about 50 species of trees and shrubs grow. There is small town with attractions with Ferris wheel, weft of slot machines, restaurants "Club Royal Park" and "Hunter's yard.

Park La Izvor "(at the spring) is the youngest fleet of Chisinau (1972), located on the northwest exit of the town on the street Calea Iesilor. The park has a surface of 150 acres. Composition of the park is determined by a cascade of ponds connected by canals. The main tree species: acacia, maple, birch, poplar. Direct walkway leads to the original bridge, overlooking the island of fairy tales, intended for children's recreation.

Park Riscani "(1970) divides the two urban areas: Riscani and Ciocana. The area of the park is 32 hectares. The park is dominated by local species of trees: white acacia, silver linden, lombardy poplar, weeping willow. In the center of the park there is a picturesque lake, one of the largest in Chisinau.

At 12 km north-west of Chisinau, on the shore of the reservoir Ghidighici is located the park “Ghidighici. “.Its area  is  about a thousand hectares, out of which 124 is covered with greenery. At the same time here up to 30 thousand people can rest. For the convenience of tourists  the park is divided in a comfortable beach, indoor water facilities, boat station and fishing base. Several years ago the reservoir was chosen by the Chisinau windsurfers.
