Short description of the trip:
"Cricovs" underground wine city is the holder of the Medal of Republic of Moldova.Cricova winery is a unique underground complex,being a company with a huge production potencial. Is the only company in Republic of Moldova which produces sparkling wines according to French classic method - "Methode Champenoise". In 2003 the factory was declared object of the national-cultural patrimony. The width of the wine galleries varies from 6 la 7, 5 m, and the total length 3- 3, 5 m. The depths, where the wine cellars are situated, vary from 35 m to 60-80 m. The wine cellars with the producing department are located on an area of about 53 ha beneath the ground. The unique wine collections are : "Ierusalim de Pasti", liqueur "Ian Beher" (harvest of 1902), and approximately 158 labels from Burgundy, Moselle, Tokaji, Rhein.... At present 465 wine labels, cognacs and liqueurs, produced within and outside of the country form the valuable thesaurus (about 1, 3 million of bottles) which belongs to Cricova Wine Factory and to Republic of Moldova.
